How We Support Development

At Little Robins, we see learning as a journey that unfolds naturally when children feel safe, valued, and inspired. Our child-centred curriculum is thoughtfully designed to nurture every part of a child’s development—from language and creativity to confidence and kindness.

Our experienced educators build strong, trusting relationships with each child. Through observation and responsive planning, they tailor learning experiences that follow the child’s lead—supporting their unique interests, strengths, and next steps.

Helping Every Child Learn Without Limits

We believe that learning should be joyful, meaningful, and full of wonder. That’s why our curriculum is play-based, sensory-rich, and deeply rooted in real-world experiences.

We don’t limit learning to worksheets or outcomes—instead, we create an environment where children are free to explore, imagine, and express themselves. Whether they’re sharing a story, painting in the atelier, or discovering bugs in the garden, they’re building the skills they’ll carry for life.

Our Learning Benefits

At Little Robins, every element of our curriculum is designed to support your child’s growth—academically, socially, and emotionally—laying the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.

Frequently asked questions

At Little Robins, our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to spark wonder and nurture every child’s natural curiosity. Grounded in a play-based, child-centred philosophy, we blend hands-on exploration with targeted learning goals to support social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth. From cozy story times to outdoor discovery sessions, each experience is tailored to individual interests and developmental milestones, ensuring that every robin takes confident steps toward becoming a lifelong learner.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is the national framework that guides early childhood education in England. At Little Robins, we use the EYFS as a foundation, but enrich it with a child-led, play-based approach that supports the whole child—emotionally, socially, and cognitively.

We believe every child is unique. Our practitioners observe, listen, and plan around each child’s interests, needs, and developmental stage—ensuring that learning is meaningful, engaging, and suited to who they are.

Children access our outdoor areas every day, in all seasons. From messy play to nature walks, the outdoors is a natural extension of the classroom—promoting movement, wellbeing, and wonder.

We gently build key skills like independence, communication, confidence, and early literacy and numeracy through play and real-life experiences—preparing children for school in a calm, joyful way.
